ISLAMABAD, PAKISTAN (ANS) -- The world is only now waking up to the alarm that the humanitarian community has been sounding for more than three weeks about the scale of the emergency here in Pakistan. It's difficult and rather pointless for those of us in-country to spend too much time wondering why the response, especially in terms of funding, has been so slow to kick in. There is just too much work to do on the ground here, and we have no time for hand-wringing. | A man evacuates his children through waist-deep waters after heavy flooding in Pakistan's Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Province (Photo: Reuters/Adrees Latif) | |

NNEWI, NIGERIA (ANS) -- I published the article below on-line in the Nigeria World web-site on Monday, June 1, 2009. Please read it and tell me what justifies Nigeria from getting more foreign loans and consequently increasing its debt profile again. In the Daily Independent of Tuesday, July 27, 2010, p. 34, Thompson Ayodele and Olusegun Sotola, public policy analysts based in Lagos, cautioned against any relapse by the government to the past abuse of foreign loans as a source of corrupt enrichment by the ruling elite. |

The dictionary used these words in the definition: foreigner, immigrant, illegal alien, outsider, noncitizen, refugee and stranger. The allegiance of an alien is usually pledged to another country. The word illegal is defined as against the law, unlawful, prohibited, forbidden, criminal, illicit and banned. |

An eye-witness report of Guatemala 2010
GUATEMALA (ANS) -- When my Pastor, Terry Faulkenbury of the West Cabarrus Church in Concord, North Carolina, asked the congregation that Sunday morning in December 2009, "Whoever is open to going on a short term mission trip this year, please stand up," I found myself standing up immediately. | Team of missionaries from West Cabarrus Church, Concord, NC. (Left to right) Kristen, Brian, Gail, Megan, Jason, Beth and Norman | When I looked over at my wife, Kristen, to see her response, she was already standing too. Kristen and I had been believers for many years, and we have always had a desire to put our faith into action, but neither one of us had ever been on a mission trip. We had both had been involved with various outreach activities within our own community, and had even participated in a couple of overnight trips to Mexico, but we both knew that it was time that we do more. From that day forward we began to seek the Lord for His guidance and provision. We didn't know where we might be going, and we certainly didn't know how we were going to pay for it, but we were both certain that we would be traveling somewhere this year. |
